Frequently Asked Questions
Will I have more than 1 tutor?
YSLS believes in relationship-based education, therefore scholars remain with the same tutor for the duration of the tutorial agreement(s). If your scholar requires support in more than one subject they may be assigned a tutor for each subject. If you have a break in service, your scholar may also be assigned a different tutor than previously. However, once a tutor is assigned they will remain with that scholar throughout the tutoring period.
Are there fees for initial assessments prior to tutoring?
No! Young Scholar Literacy Services, LLC (YSLS) conducts initial assessments to determine scholar needs as a part of the tutoring process, no fees are administered for this service.
What is the difference in YSLS and a corporate tutoring agency?
YSLS provides individualized instruction using Texas certified teachers who know the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) expectations and best practice methods. Our educators have access to Texas Education Agency (TEA) resources that are used to develop lessons to prepare students for the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR).
